VIVIAN STOOKE is a teacher of clinical Pilates and Somatic education for physical and emotional well-being, strength, and health maintenance. Her practice is unique within the wellness and fitness industry because it offers clients a hybrid program of Pilates and Somatics.

Vivian instructs clients of all ages and abilities, including athletes and dancers who wish to obtain maximum performance skills. Her method is beneficial to clients with chronic conditions, those who are post-operative, and clients with trauma injuries who wish to live pain-free live and maintain healthy mobility.

She is incredibly passionate about teaching and sharing her knowledge and experience to help solve the wellness and fitness challenges of her clients. Vivian embraces a philosophy of equipping people with the necessary tools for a lifetime of overall fitness and well-being.

Training and Certifications.

Vivian Stooke brings more than 30 years of movement education to her work, having studied ballet with Leon Danielian and Valentine Pereyaslavic at American Ballet Theatre in NYC before being accepted as a student to the Royal Ballet School in London where she received her Cecchetti Syllabus Major Exam Certificate in 1980. During her Pilates training with Alan Herdman, Vivian also trained in remedial applications with renowned Royal Ballet physiotherapist Shirley Hancock, designing specialized post rehabilitation programs to suit client's needs and abilities. Vivian is trained in both Clinical and Classical Pilates repertoire, as well as Clinical Somatic neuromuscular therapy.

Hybrid Therapeutic Method.

Vivian's unique method combines Pilates and Somatics modalities providing you with the neuromuscular pandiculation benefits of Clinical Somatics and the strengthening and postural benefits of Joseph Pilates' exercises. The combination of these two methods of instruction, with an emphasis on slow, fluid movement and focused breathing will provide greater results than with conventional Pilates training.
